Bali, early 2026.

The name Surfocco was scribbled on a piece of paper stuck to my wall here in Bali for months.

Through a Balinese friend who eco-dyes textiles and clothing in a small traditional village on the far east coast of Bali, I was introduced to my formulator, who has been creating skincare products for decades here on the island.

I slowly began working on the idea of scrubs and learning about the naturally derived ingredients and how they work.

The Balinese rice and coffee grown in the mountains of Kintamani. The sea salt from Tejakula, harvested by hand using traditional methods. The plant oils, coconut oil and jojoba. All the minerals and botanicals that we use in our scrubs.

I learned how beneficial these ingredients are for the skin, how oils help dissolve oil-based pollutants, zinc, sunscreen and daily buildup, and how oil is needed to dissolve oil. I also learned how minerals and botanicals gently exfoliate the skin, helping lift away salt, sunscreen, pollution and buildup without stripping the skin's natural barrier.

What started out as a really rough concept and webpage with very unclear positioning, after time and a lot of hard work, developed into a very clear brand that I positioned as skincare for surfers.

A naturally derived range of scrubs formulated for surfers' skin.

Luxury surf skincare.

Some of the recipes are traditional Balinese, like the Kencur and Rice Scrub and the Balinese Sea Salt Scrub. They are stunning. The scent of the oils and botanicals. The texture on your skin. The way your skin feels clean, smooth and rejuvenated after every use.

I have spent most of my life in and around the ocean and never found skincare built for people who actually live this way.

That is how Surfocco was born.

Glad you found us.
